About me
My specialist training is in existential psychotherapy, which is a philosophical approach that places emphasis on the human condition as a whole and allows me to work with clients in an individual, intimate and personal way. The aim within our sessions is to increase your self-awareness and personal understanding. Through this process of deepening self-realisation, challenges and difficulties you may experiences can be understood and resolved, creating more freedom, fulfilment and balance within life through developing awareness, choice and personal autonomy.
For a long time, I have been fascinated by the relationship between the mind and body, as well as the pursuit of personal growth. This passion led me to explore Eastern philosophy, meditation, yoga and other spiritual practices, which was followed by my studying psychology and psychotherapy. Existential therapy combines my interests in philosophy, personal development, and mental and spiritual wellbeing and is an approach that is immensely beneficial for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world.
I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including; depression, anxiety, eating disorders, neurodiversity, self-harm, suicidal ideation, abuse, PTSD, and panic attacks.
I am studying for a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at the New School of Psychotherapy and Counselling and am a counselling psychologist in training. I hold a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Liverpool (with distinction), where I was awarded the Dissertation of the Year in 2021. I have a Certificate in Counselling from the University of the West of England, Bristol, and a Bachelor of Science in Chinese Medicine from the Northern College of Acupuncture.
